About

Hello, and welcome to JM Tutoring!

JM Tutoring was created by Joe, a qualified working primary school teacher, who has experience with Children of all ages. Fully DBS checked. We understand how busy parents can be with work and looking after the home, and this is where tuition comes in.

We believe in practical/interactive learning, not just shoving worksheets in children’s faces. We help your children to understanding the reasoning in order to be more confident with problem solving. We also have experience with pupils where English is an additional language, and offer our services to all children, no matter their level.

We are available for Zoom tuition in the comfort of your own home on your computer to save you travelling at a discounted rate, or we will come to your house for face-to-face tuition, to ensure your child is getting the attention they require. Please reach out to discuss face to face sessions.

Each session is 45 minutes long. In our experience, children have better focus when they aren’t waiting for a whole hour to pass, but we can offer 60 minute sessions too.

Having previous experience working within multiple year groups, both KS1 and KS2, Joe feels the education of all children is important and thinks that every child is entitled to receive a good education. At his current school, Joe is the Science co-ordinator and has experience teaching all subjects. Joe’s love for learning came after completing his GCSEs and A Levels, where he realised that gaining knowledge was key to be able to succeed in everyday life.

Joe enjoys playing different sports such as tennis, golf, and football. In his spare time, he loves learning different languages and likes playing the guitar and piano. He also enjoys going to the theatre, travelling, boxing, and looking after his cats and dog. Joe sits on the boards of multiple alumni committees of charities he supports.

Joe has previously spent time in America, working with children of all ages up to 16. He has worked as a counsellor for multiple summers at camps within California. He has taught in multiple schools and enjoys working with children of all ages within school holidays where he helps to run drama groups and supports children to learn music.

Fun Facts: Joe has been to 10 states within the USA, he grew his hair out twice and cut it off for charity, coaches his school’s football team, has first-aid experience, and attended University where he studied Geography, where he was the president of an international society and attended Las Vegas on a transnational convention.
